Riding on a motorcycle in the cold weather can have it's challenges. If you don't like to put your motorcycle up for the winter here are some options to help keep you riding through the cold of the winter months.

Hey Kevin. Just letting you know I’ve been watching and practicing your videos for 2 years. You saved my butt last night man. Typical story. Big deer just standing in road, 45 mph, emergency braking, started skidding, balance of front and rear brakes and allow bike to do what it does to come to controlled slow. Keep it up sir. You’ll never know how many lives you saved because the wreck never happened.

The first year I had my Harley I dropped it two times when stopping at an intersection. You pointed out that I was turning the handlebars and hitting the front brake and after practicing your stop and go technics I no longer have trouble in that area. I also have used the brake and escape technic when confronted with a pick-up truck pulling a trailer pulled out in front of me and through practicing in a parking lot, it just became second nature and I avoided what could have been a really bad situation! Thanks for all the great knowledge and I will be watching anything that you will be putting on YouTube! I know that I have a long way to go but I am definitely a better rider since I began to do your drills!

After a 35 year hiatus, I decided to return to riding motorcycles. Internet searches for instructional material provided a vast array of choices for my questions. MCRider was one that coming up with lessons for the topics I was interested in. The videos on YouTube were extremely helpful in rebuilding my confidence and skill level. I was aware there was a forum for quite some time before joining and am glad I took the plunge. The depth of knowledge from the membership, as well as the willingness to answer questions and offer guidance cannot be overstated. I purchased some practice cones and used the Field Guide exercises to hone my riding skills and my practice sessions are now something I look forward to.

Perhaps the most beneficial parts of the forum are the discussions pertaining to safe riding and rider awareness. One of the forum members made a comment to the effect of ” A superior rider uses his superior judgment to avoid situations which require the use of his superior skill.” That statement stays in the forefront of my mind and I believe it helps make me a better/safer rider. I am much more aware of the potential dangers due to reading the discussions on the forum and it has helped increase my enjoyment of being on 2 wheels again.

The MCrider forums are the best online resource I’ve found on the web. Becoming a motorcyclist is a lifetime of learning and it is great to have a place to find the right help with taking next steps. There are those times along that journey where we need to go back to review basics. MCrider is there in both cases. Whether we are a beginner, highly experienced, or anywhere in between, we have found the right place, to be both enriched, and to add to others’ lives.
